I thought this was a great chapter.I don't think she wants to believe that she is going to be in the foster home for as long as she will.I think her real mom was abusing her.Carly dose it fit in. I think she feels guilty that her foster mom is so nice to her.

Carley meets Mrs.Murphy and the boys Adam, Michael Eric, and Daniel. She doesn't really want to settle in. She feels sorry that she is there at the Murphy's house because it said that she was saying sorry for being there in the first place. It's seems like Carley doesn't really like the Murphy's. She said that the place smells like dry cleaners and reminds her of Vegas. I think Carley might feel like her foster mom is to nice to her because when she broke the picture she didn't yell at her. Maybe Carley's real mom was really rude and treated like a adult instead of a child. -Shravya anisetti

I love the similes in this book! My favorite part is when it says, " the idea of me settling here is as likely as a apple tree sprouting in my ear. " I like it because it tells the readers that Carley does not want to settle in the Murphy's house.

In chapter two One for The Murphy's Carley meets Mrs.Murphy, Daniel, Adam and Michel Eric. Daniel is the oldest Adam is the middle child Michel Eric is the youngest. In the text it said "I look at this family. A family I don't know. That I am supposed to stay with."After we read this is could tell Carley didn't want to be in this family and she wanted her mother. Mrs.Murphy tells Carley to start settling in and the author put a simile there it was " The idea if me settling in here is as likely as an apple tree sprouting out of my ear" I could tell she just wanted to go to her mother as I thought in the previously. Mrs.Murphy tells Carley she can call her Julie so it isn't so formal. But Carley doesn't want to call her Julie she doesn't want to call her anything. Mrs.Murphy ask Carley if she is okay with having lasagna for dinner. Carley asks what brand the lasagna is and she asks between two choice Stouffer's or store brand. Mrs.Murphy tells her neither since she made it herself and stuck it in this freezer. Carley now asks if she has a husband as she thinks of her stepfather Dennis. Mrs.Murphy tells her a little about her husband Jack. Carley is now afraid. Carley goes into Mrs.Murphy's bedroom and looks around. Mrs.Murphy now sees her and Carley feels guilty. At the end of the chapter Carley says "I hope that if I am patient I will have a mother of my own again".

In chapter two of One For The Murphy's there were an unbelievable amount of smilies and metaphors! One of my favorite smilies in this chapter was when Carley said "the idea of settling in here is as likely as an apple tree sprouting in my ear". The reason why I like this simile is because instead of telling the readers how she was feeling, the author made it so you had to think about it. My favorite part, in this section of One For The Murphy's, is when Carley nocks over a picture in the hallway of Mr. Murphy but Mrs. Murphy doesn't get mad. This is my favorite part because it shows how Mrs. Murphy treats people compared to Carley's mom. Once again this chapter was Really good.

In chapter 2 there were an overflowing amount of similes. My favorite simile was "settling in was as likely as an apple tree sprouting out of my ear". That means that Carly thinks she will never ever settle in to the Murphy's house. My favorite part of the chapter was when Carly accidentally knocks over a picture of mr. Murphy and can't help but feel extremely guilty for knocking a picture down.

When she met her new family she felt sick. She was thinking bad things about them in he thoughts and was thinking about her mother in the hospital and wanted her family back more than anything.

In chapter 2 Carly meets the Murphy's Julie [the mother] ,Daniel [the oldest boy] ,Adam [the middle child] , and Micheal Eric [the youngest]. The similes in this chapter are amazing! For example "The idea of me settling in here is as likely as an apple tree sprouting in my ear." This is a really crazy book!

Carley is an orphan and has to live with aknew family that she doesn't love. One simile used for this is "settling in with this family is about as likely as an apple tree growing in my are". The book also has a lot of sad parts but it ends up to be happy.
