Running away how crazy is she. With every pebble and stick that makes more pain she runs faster and faster. It must feel bad if your mother wants you to get hurt. I think her mother never wanted her. Wouldn't you feel bad if your parents didn't want you? It's like a cat chasing a mouse. I think her mother and step father should go to jail.
What I think about the cop that was asking all her questions I think tho cop was verey pushy. And I like how Mrs. Murphy stood up for Carly. I think Mrs. Murphy was verey nice for doing that for Carly.
This chapter is so powerful. In this chapter the police officer comes to the murphy's. And he is asking about Dennis. Then the police officer blames Carly. This is the best part then the foster mom say you can't blame her. This shows how much the foster mom cares about Carly.
It was soo nice of Carley's mother to stand up for Carley when the police came. I thought that it was very mean how the police said it was Carley's fault that she made Dennis mad and he hit her. I feel bad for Carley because the police was talking about putting her mother in jail. How do you guys like the book?
These chapter were good because I liked when Mrs. Murphy said " Dennis would rot in jail." I liked how she stood up to the police. These chapters were very meaningful
I think that Carley will have a hard time in school with that girl really worried about something that she forgot and with Rainer. But I also think she will make good friends. I also think that Carley's teacher who is kind of crazy might help her feel more welcome. I think that it was great that Mrs. Murphy stood up for Carley when the police officer said " What did you do to make him mad?" You can't do anything to make someone so mad that they want kill you literally.
I think chapter 12 and 13 were surprising. It's so funny how in her school Carley sits next to Rainer from the resurant. I can't believe the cop came to Carley and blamed her for Dennis's abuse. I loved how mrs Murphy stands up for Carley when that happened and Carley even comes closer to her and trusts her. Now THATS a good mother. I think Carley has a good foster home to trust
In chapters 12 & 13, the police officer comes and confronts Carley. I can't believe that he accused her of doing anything wrong. It was so motherly-like when Mrs. Murphy came and told the officer that he had no right to think Carley had anything to do with the "incident". I totally agreed when Mrs. Murphy said she hoped that Dennis rot in jail. Even though Mrs. Murphy defended her, I still wonder if Carley will tell about her mother. It's really sad that Carley's mother would help Dennis hurt her. That's not what Mrs. Murphy would have done.
In chapter 12 I think that Carley thinks Mr. Rubin is funny and I also think that the other girl is a bully. And in chapter 13 I think that the stepfather and mother should go to jail. And I also think Mrs. Murphy is a good mom.
How would you feel if an officer said right into your face that it was your fault for making someone mad and that mad person hit you which was a adult? I would feel terrible if someone said that to me! And I would think that it is the persons fault for hitting you do you agree or not?
In chapters 12 and 13, a police officer came to mrs. Murphy's house to ask Carly if her mother interfered with her beating. Carly didn't want to turn her mother in, and the police officer accused Carly for making the stepdad mad. I think that mrs. Murphy was right to say that she, for one, hopes that the stepfather Dennis rots in jail( I do to) and I think Carly is beginning to like mrs.Murphy.
Chapter.13 I think Carley will tell the police man what really happen and want to stay with mrs.murphy and act like she is her real mom. Carley thinks that she can be protected by mrs. Murphy. I think they should go to jail.
I think Carley was scared to death when that cop came in to their house. Mrs. Murphy was really nice to have protected Carley. She treated her like her own kid or a billion dollar bill.
In chapter 12&13 it was about the police came to ask questions about Carley's mom and Dennis. Then Carley answered the questions but she didn't want to tell the truth when the police said "was your mom helping Dennis hit you" because she didn't want her mom to get in trouble. At the end of the chapters Mrs.Murphy protected Carley because the police accused Carley that she was bad so that made Dennis.
I agree with zanieb it shows that Mrs.Murphy really cares about Carley and she would stand up to a police officer for her. If I where Carley I would be scared of accusing my mother about beating me because if the Murphy's let her go where would she go? Carley is in a tough spot, if she chooses to send her mother to jail her mother will probably hate her and if she came out from jail she would probably try to get revenge. If she doesn't accuse her mother and when she comes out of a coma, who will Carley choose the Murphy's or her mother?
In chapter 12-13 it starts out with Carley going to school. Mrs.Murohy drops her and asks if she wants her to come in with her. Carley wants to say yes but she then sees Michel Eric and Adam running around so she says no. Everything starts out fine but then when she. Reaches her locker a girl named Toni forgets something and is near Carley's locker and asks "Can you believe what a simp I am?" Carley doesn't really know what to say. Soon she goes into her first class with Mr.Rubin and tells her to call him Sir Rubin. Carley finds her seat and she sees that she is sitting next to Toni who she met at the lockers and Rainer the guy from the restaurant. After she gets home Mrs.Murphy asks her how school was. she doesn't tell her about Rainer. Later in the chapter a cop comes and asks Carley about the day of the "accident" and what she did to provoke him. Carley couldn't believe that he was blaming her for what her stepfather did. Mrs. Murphy came in and told him to leave after this.
I think it was hard for Carley to go to a new school espaically because she sits next to Rainer. I am still confused on why she would kindof like him but call him a freak. I also think it was a good thing when Carley's mom stands up for Carley when the police officer was blaming her for making Dennis mad. I feel bad for Carley when her mom and stepdad would hurt her like that. How would you feel if you parents hurt you like that. I feel even more bad because Carley believes that her mother still loves her even after her mother hurt her.
Mrs Murphy sounds like a good mother standing up for Carly because the officer is blaming Carly for dines actions he should rot in jail with Carly's mother and I'm wondering if mrs Murphy really does love Carly like if mrs Murphy was her real brith mother so I agree with Isaac
I disagree with mikey because the cop wanted answers and not lies but I do think that the cop was wrong about saying its Carley's fault that her step dad abused her.
I personally think people should make a boarding school for rude, abuseive parents so Carly's mom an step-dad could go thare. The poleiceman should blam Denice for giting mad and doing abuse to his step-child Carly. And don't get me started about Carly's real mom, thare are someny things wrong with her I don't know ware to start with Carly's real mom! That polece man shoulded half to ask Carly he should jest have Aristide the stepfather and real mom to jail!
I agree with Ann because I think Dennis has a big temper and I think Dennis and Carly's mom don't care about any thing just themselves. And I like how Mrs. Murphy stood up for Carly. And I enjoy this book a lot.
In chapter 12 & 13 when the police officer came to the murphys house i thought he was going to arrest mrs.murphy because he thought she was ms.conners. I loved how the authour expressed how mrs.murphy was feeling when the officer arrived. " her shoulders dropped and she looked at me" i think she was feeling relived that her husband was ok but also regreting having a foster child. She could certanly learn to love carley but i know that if i had a foster child and they caused the police to come to my house i would be pretty mad. My favorite part was when mrs.murphy came into the room after the officer acused carley of getting dennis mad. She was very protective of carley and i think carley was enjoying the fact that there was somone in her life who carred about her. I think in chapter 14 carley and mr.murphy start to not hate each other but it still doesnt seem like they have much of a father doughter like conection but its understandable because carley ahs never had a opertunity to have a conection like that. One thing that im wondering about is what was carleys birth father like and why did he leave? These three chapter i think will change alot about how the readers feel because i know that it changed my entier prediction about the book.
Throughout chapters 12-13 some indiscribable things happen. For starters after Carley's first day of school a police officer comes to there house. Mrs. Murphy left the room but the police officer began to blame Carley for Denise's actions. I think that is so upsired that Carley could have been blamed for someone else's actions. Another tradgic question that comes across is "did your own mother help Dennis abuse you". If I was in Carley's place I would not be able to answer that question. Carley had trouble thinking back to that horrific night because that is what caused her to be in the Murphy's home that day. Luckily mrs. Murphy does not allow those questions to be answered in her house. She has the police leave her house and from then on Carley felt closer to her then normal.
I agree with dominic because clearly if a parent does that to thier child they do not have the athority to be a parent. What do you think will happen to mrs.conners?
In chapter 12 and 13 Carley goes to school. While at her locker, Carley meets a unpleasant girl named Toni. When she gets to class she realizes that she has to sit next to Toni and Rainer the waiter she insulted at the resturaunt. Later in the chapter, a police officer comes to the Murphy's house and asked Carly about the day that she went to the hospital. He accuses her of provoking Dennis. Mrs. Murphy tells the police officer that it wasn't Carley's fault and that she hopes Dennis will rot in jail.
Suheera asked how I would feel if my parent hurt me. I would feel terrible and confused because I thought my parents loved me.
Wow, I can't believe that police officer thought Carley did something to make Dennis ABUSE her. Go Mrs. Murphy for saying, "I for one hope he rots in jail." I'm happy that now Carley is a lot closer to Mrs. Murphy now AND Mr. Murphy now. Mr. Murphy isn't giving Carley that creepy look anymore. I wonder what will happen to Dennis & Carley's birth mother. Will they 'rot' in jail or stay being a abuseve family. Is Carley's mom even AWAKE from her coma? I have SO MANY QUESTIONS!!!!!!!
In chapters 12-13 Carley is being investigated on what happend the night that Dennis beat Carley and her mother up. The cop is trying to get Carley to think that she caused the beating by taunting Dennis but since Dennis is an adult he should be making better decisions.
Isha said that she couldn't believe that the police officer thought that Carley did something to make Dennis abuse her and I completely agree! Carley did nothing wrong!
I agree with Emma because if a police officer said did your mother help your stepfather abuse you and if you said yes your mother would go to jail but you didn't want her to because you really loved your mom, I would have a hard time answering that.
I can't believe that the police officer said it was her fault for making Dennis abuse her! I was proud of Mrs.Murphy for standing up for Carley. In my opinion I think Mrs.Murphy is right for saying Dennis is responsible for his own actions and It is wrong for the police officer to think that way. In a way I think that the police officer is on Dennis' side. I would be tromitised for a police officer to tell me that it was my fault for making someone abuse me, wouldn't you be too? I bet Carley likes her foster family better now, because when Mrs.Murphy was standing up for her, Carley moved closer and closer to her, and when Carley and Mr.Murphy were watching the baseball game they kind of bonded in some sort of way.
To answer Tony's question that would make me mad and sad!
Chapters 12-14 were VERRY intense! A local police man comes the the Murphie household and questions Carley about the 'acsedent'. I couldn't believe that the police man BLAMED Carley for what whent down that night! Can you imagian how it would feel for someone to abuse you and then get blamed for it? But all was not bad, when Mrs. Murphy came to Carley's rescue and told the police man that HE was wrong and told him that he should leave!! I can imagine this making Carley feel good inside because now she knows how it feels to have someone love, and care for her. What do you think?
I agree with Amaya because abusive parents may realize that after a while that they abused their children, they may want them back and want to learn how to be a better parent. I think that Carley's mom might feel that way.
I hope some of you can relate with me in the beginning I could side with the cop he was asking reasonable questions.I could not believe the words that miss Virsi murmured to the class how could the cop ask such a question! Like it would ever be Carly's fault, did you do any thing to aggravate Dennis to cause him to hit you?i can't believe that Carly still hasent said thank you to misses Murphy after how nice she was to stand up for Carly like that.
Chapters 12-13 was filled with surprising ness. After Carley has a awesome/ horrible day at school including seeing Rainer, the kid from the restaurant, in her class, a very pushy police officer shows up at the Murphy household. The police officer asks Carley about the night of the "incident" because supposivly Dennis is being controlled by the police and they need answers. There was one question that shocked Carley and it was "did your mother help Dennis hurt you in any way?" Then the police officer blames Carley! That was when Mrs. Murphy stood up for Carley and said strait to the police officer "you do not have any right to blame Carley for what happened that night!" And the police officer backed off. I'd like answer Tonys question, I totally agree that it's the persons fault that hit you!
In chaper 12 and 13 it was the first day Carly actuly went to school and when she got there she was right next to a girl near the lockers that forgot something and was really angry and when she went In her class room she saw Rainer from the diner and her teacher talks like someone from the midevel times when she got home (foster home) Mrs.Murphy said how was school today and she said good but she didn't tell about Rainer later that day a cop came to Mrs.Murphys door and asked Carly about the axedent With Denis and what did you do to get him that mad and did your mother help Denis in the beating
In chapters 12 and 13 it starts out with Carley going to school. Mrs. Murphy asks if she wants to walk Carley in. Carly wanted to say yes but then she saw Michel Eric and Adam running around and she said no. When Carley was walking in the hallway to her locker she meet a girl named Toni who was saying what a simp she was. When Carly went to class she saw one open seat next to the boy she meet in the resturant, Rainer and the girl she meet at the lockers, Toni. When Carley went home from school there was a police officer standing at the door. He asked Carley some questions and then stated blaming Carley that she started it but Mrs. Murphey stood up for Carley and said she wanted Dennis to "Rot in jail" and then the police officer left. I agree with Mikey and Ann that Dennis has a big temper
In chapter 13 I thought that to Carley when the police man came it must have been scary to Carley that he was blaming her. She kept thinking about it like she was traumatized I like how Mrs. Murphy stood up for Carley. I also like the simile "Mrs. Murphy turned the police officer to dust". When Carley and Mr. Murphy were watching the baseball game they sort of bonded.
I think that Mrs. Murpy stood up to the policeman who blamed Carly making Her stepfather mad and hitting her when Dennis had the choice to hit Carly. When do you think the teacher in the school is not going to be 'The Royal Haynes'.
I agree with you Dennis because if someone goes shopping for you and wastes a ton of money for you and stood up for you the least they could get is a simple "thanks for standing up for me". What do you guys think?
I agree with Emma because if I was in Carley's shoes, it would be so difficult to answer the question "did your own mother help abuse you?" Even though what Carley's mother did was SO WRONG she believes that her mother loves her.
In the chapters it was crazy because a lot of things happened like that guy from the restraint named Rainer and Carly said is you brother thunder. Yeah that kid was in Carly's new school and more surprising he is the kid sits right next to him. On her left is a rude girl named Toni. After school a cop came to her foster house and asked what Carly did to make her step farther mad and hit her. So basically the cop is saying that it was Carly's fault that made her step farther mad. That's just messed up. Luckily mrs. Murphies stands up to the cop and the cop leaves.
Mrs Murphy has been so nice and Carly and her are really starting to become good friends I also think Carly and the rest of the family are becoming nice to each other but Daniel Daniel Daniel Daniel he's next
I don't agree with Isaac a kid can never make an adult abuse him or her. If I tease my step dad he would never do that. Her step dad just doesn't know how to think correctly. It is Dennis's wacky old brain thinking that's the right thing.

Chapter.13
I think Carley will tell the police man what really happen and want to stay with mrs.murphy and act like she is her real mom. Carley thinks that she can be protected by mrs. Murphy. I think they should go to jail.

I think that Carly should tell the cop all the answers to the cops questions because he could get her arrested.
It's not even carlys falt
I agree with Katie because mrs Murphy did stand up for Carly
I agree with James because Carly was trying to protect herself
Mrs. Murphy standed up for Carly because the cop was asking her questions about her life before she ended up in foster care.
I agree with Ann because I think Dennis has a big temper and I think Dennis and Carly's mom don't care about any thing just themselves. And I like how Mrs. Murphy stood up for Carly.
And I enjoy this book a lot.

I love how Emma said that. She felt closer to Mrs. Murphy than normal. I wonder if Carley will ever feel completely comfortable with the Murphys.
I would feel the same way esme said she would if her parent hurt her. What would you do if your parent tried to hurt you?
In chapters 12-13 Carley is being investigated on what happend the night that Dennis beat Carley and her mother up. The cop is trying to get Carley to think that she caused the beating by taunting Dennis but since Dennis is an adult he should be making better decisions.
I agree with Mikey because That cop asked if Carley did something to make Dennis mad. How could he even THINK that?!?
I agree
I felt good that Mr. Murphy and Carley are ACTUALLY BONDING.Now he won't give Carley that mean look anymore. How do you feel?
Isha said that she couldn't believe that the police officer thought that Carley did something to make Dennis abuse her and I completely agree! Carley did nothing wrong!

Do you guys want Dennis to rot in jail? I felt good that the foster mother stood up for Carley. How do you guys feel about that
I agree with Amaya because abusive parents may realize that after a while that they abused their children, they may want them back and want to learn how to be a better parent.
In chaper 12 and 13 it was the first day Carly actuly went to school and when she got there she was right next to a girl near the lockers that forgot something and was really angry and when she went In her class room she saw Rainer from the diner and her teacher talks like someone from the midevel times when she got home (foster home) Mrs.Murphy said how was school today and she said good but she didn't tell about Rainer later that day a cop came to Mrs.Murphys door and asked Carly about the axedent
With Denis and what did you do to get him that mad and did your mother help Denis in the beating
One For The Murpys
Mrs Murphy has been so nice and Carly and her are really starting to become good friends I also think Carly and the rest of the family are becoming nice to each other but Daniel Daniel Daniel Daniel he's next
Carly agervated Dennis by teaseing him so it is her falt a little.
I wonder if the police man will come back to mrs. Murphy's house? I really do hope Dennis and Carley's mom will rot in jail.
I don't agree with Isaac a kid can never make an adult abuse him or her. If I tease my step dad he would never do that. Her step dad just doesn't know how to think correctly. It is Dennis's wacky old brain thinking that's the right thing.
I disagree with suheera cause it's her fault that she made fron of Rainer but it is tough with that mean girl tony.
I can't elite Carly still loves her mother even after that horrible thing she did
I agree with you Zaineb because if I were Carley I would never want to see my mom again
I wonder why Carley's real mom is in the hospital and when she is going to get out of the hospital?
